May 7, 1973 - Grubb leads Padres to win over Cubs!

Johnny Grubb doubled, tripled, drove in a run, and scored a run to lead the struggling Padres past Rick Reuschel and the Cubs 4 to 3 in a tight one Monday night.

Grubb doubled home a run in the fourth to start the Padres scoring, and then led off the 7th with a triple before scoring on a Leron Lee double to tie the game. Lee was the eventual winning run, knocked home by catcher Fred Kendall with two outs.

Rich Troedson negotiated the 8th and 9th to secure the victory.

Randy Hundley hit his second home run, a two run shot in the second, for Chicago.
