Roger Metzger went 3 for 5 with two triples and 3 runs batted in as the Astros routed the Mets 9 to 3.

Jerry Reuss improved to 5-1 with six innings of three run ball, and Cecil Upshaw and Jim York combined for two innings of hitless relief.

The Mets managed just five hits. Harry Parker couldn't make it out of the 4th and falls to 1-3.
