Bobby Valentine had 3 hits and scored twice, while Frank Robinson managed a pair of RBIs on a groundout and a sac fly as the California Angels beat the Baltimore Orioles 6 to 3.

Bill Singer went eight and two-thirds before running out of steam and giving up a pinch hit home run to Terry Crowley. Steve Barber got the final out to secure the win.

Mike Cuellar fell to 2-5 after allowing 6 runs, 4 earned, in 3.2 innings.
