 April 20, 1948 - Chicago (0-0, Meyer) at Pittsburgh (0-1, Sewell)

Stan Rojek's 2-run home run in the third put the Pirates in front early, and Russ Sewell would hold the lead for 8+ innings before tiring. He handed the ball off to Emil Kush, who closed out the 9th to seal the Buc's first win of the season, evening their record at 1-1.

Rokek's homer was good enough for the Spalding Rubber Player of the Game.
