Life has other plans

Image
I had planned on spending the day banging out some games yesterday, but life had other plans. I spent the day at the ER with my wife. She was having some severe pain in her lower abdomen and a trip to urgent care yielded a recommendation that we go to the ER to rule out appendicitis. Fortunately, they were able to rule it out and provide some relief. The whole process took all of the day and evening, but at least the ER room had a TV, so we were able to watch the World Series. The Dodgers are tough. Last night was the first time I saw Yamamoto pitch, and he's every bit as good as advertised. I hope my Yankees get their act together and play well at home, but right now the Dodgers look like world beaters. Anyway, I started a game of my 1973 replay before I left, and finished it before bed (had an inning left when we decided a trip to the urgent care was required). Results below. 4-23-1973 (Night Game): 1973-NYA (5-9) vs. 1973-ML4 (8-4) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8...

Logging my games - the plan, along with a 1973 update through Sunday, April 22nd

I've done a pretty terrible job of keeping up with my 1973 Payoff Pitch Baseball replay. I posted the introduction and the Opening Day game, and since then I've played 154 more games and not posted once. No big deal - it's just a hobby after all, but it is one that I spend a lot of time on. So, instead of trying to do a big writeup for each game, I'm going to start doing a brief recap of whatever games I play each day on here, along with weekly standings and league leaders. I play the games with cards and dice unless otherwise noted, but I use Digital Diamond Baseball (available on Steam) to record the games as I play them and keep track of all the statistics. The Board Game Companion is easy to use while playing or when entering games afterwards, and I recommend it over similar solutions like BallStat/BallScore or IScore. This will cover whatever I'm playing. Right now, I've got the 1973 POP baseball replay along with a 1960 Strat-O-Matic baseball replay, both...
